Sons Of The Shepherd
“We have had Sons of the Shepherd in our church for many years. Not only are they accomplished musicians, but they have a true servant’s heart. If you invite them to your church you will experience, not a concert, but a powerful time of ministry for people of all ages.”
Minister of Music
Dinuba First Assembly of God
“People are still talking about how much they enjoyed listening to you and how you blessed them with your songs. I hope to make this a yearly event. Thanks again for coming and blessing our church.”

Bringing the word to the lost
Why we do what we do -
Sons of the Shepherd has been sharing the gospel through song and testimony since 1983. More than just entertaining and uplifting, it is their sincere desire to proclaim the truth found in Gods word and to see lives changed by coming to a real relationship with God through Jesus Christ.

In 1981, Ken heard a sermon that forever changed his focus and his path. The topic of the sermon was Christians using their gifts in service to the Lord. That day, Ken knew his service was to be ministering in song through southern gospel music.
Within a couple of months he was enrolled in the Blackwood Brothers School of Music in Murray, Kentucky. When he came back, his pastor told him that he wanted him to sing the next Sunday.
"Since the day God laid this ministry on my heart, I have never looked back. My desire is to go wherever the Lord leads, to always lift up His name in testimony and song, and to bring the spirit of worship into every service."

Jon was born and raised in California and first started singing in the 7th grade school choir.
Soon after Jon and his brother Ken attended the Blackwood Brothers School of Music in Kentucky for 2 years, which then led to the calling to form the Sons of the Shepherd.
"Singing has always been a major passion in my life. I've done it all! I've been lead singer of many bands: Rock, Country, and even a Christian Rock Band. The original wedding singer, more weddings than I can count, even my own. All of these adventures have always led me back to where it all began with my brother and Southern Gospel"
Craig Smith was born and raised in California and grew up singing in church at a young age. He has always had a passion to share the gospel through music . He studied vocal training and vocal performance at Azusa Pacific University. While there he sang in the Mens Chorale, Concert Choir, and traveled during the summers playing the drums and singing in a small ensemble.
"Sons of the Shepherd was the first Southern Gospel group that I ever traveled and sang with. I've been blessed to travel and minister with several Southern Gospel groups throughout the US and Canada - I've always felt that there is a very special anointing over Ken, Jon and Sons of the Shepherd and it is a joy and a privilege to come back home where it all began"
